BROWDER – William “Bill” Edward Jarvis, 74, of Browder, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born November 28, 1943, in Muhlenberg County, he was a member of Browder Missionary Baptist Church. He was a coal miner at Caney Creek Coal Mines for 33 years, and also worked at Morgantown Care and Rehab in maintenance. He smiled all the time. He loved his children and grandchildren, and especially his wife of 47 years, Judy. He was a peaceful and Godly man, and was one of a kind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Beatrice Jarvis; brother, Cecil Jarvis Jr.; and six sisters, Nyla Drake, Doris Knight, Stella Jenkins, Willow Mae Knight, Wanda Lesley, and Dorothy Gossett.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Willoughby Jarvis; son, Clarence “Billy” (Kim) Jarvis of Powderly; daughter, Christy Elaine (Jason) Shemwell of Browder; five grandchildren, Austin Jarvis, Noah (Makayla) Shemwell, Macon Jarvis, Jaden Shemwell, and Madison Shemwell; step-grandchild, Reina Draper; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeremy Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery.
