Students from the MJCC help to install an access point in Hartford.

Muhlenberg Job Cops students have been working hard with the City of Hartford on major projects for city improvement, including constructing a new kayak access ramp.

Students from the welding and heavy equipment operator career technical training programs at MJCC have been getting valuable hands-on work experience as they partner with project managers, engineers, members of the Trail Town Task Force and other laborers to complete the kayak access ramp. The new ramp is located at the end of East Union Street in Hartford.

The new kayak access ramp is part of the Trail Town Task Force’s efforts to make Hartford and surrounding Ohio County a certified Kentucky Trail Town location. To qualify, Hartford and Ohio County must promote outdoor activities by providing hiking trails, ATV trails, kayak and canoe access areas and horseback riding trails.
