Two Drakesboro Residents Arrested on Drug Charges


Police arrested two Drakesboro residents yesterday following an investigation into illegal drug activity.

During the investigation, Detective Wade Shoemaker of the Central City Police/Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force/Kentucky State Police DESI West, and CCPD K9 Office Josh Beatty made a traffic stop on a 1997 Pontiac driven by Amber DeArmond, 30, of Drakesboro.

According to police, CCPD K9 Dusko gave a positive alert for illegal drugs in the vehicle during the stop and crystal methamphetamine was found during a search of the vehicle.

DeArmond, as well as her passenger Toby Taylor, 34, of Drakesboro, were arrested and charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) – first offense. Both were also served with outstanding arrest warrants.
