Murder Suspect Found in Centertown Home


Tuesday July 17, Ohio County Sheriff’s Office responded to Centertown address after receiving a tip that murder suspect Phillip Hobdy would be located there. Upon arriving on scene, the homeowner denied that Mr. Hobdy was at that location, but later recanted and advised the subject was hiding in the attic. Units located Mr. Hobdy and he was taken in to custody without incident.

Phillip Hobdy, 32, of Owensboro was being sought by Daviess County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the July 7th deadly shooting of Casey Joe Embry, 30, also of Owensboro.

Custody of Mr. Hobdy was transferred to Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and he was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
